First Christian Church Disciples of Christ

Thank You! - A HUGE thank you from the church office!

Thank you to all who stepped in during the last 10 months to help make what I do so much easier.  Even though we did not have a full time pastor, the work and the business of the church never stopped.  Thank you for all the phone calls and cards that were exchanged as you checked in with each other.  Thank you for contacting the office with your concerns and keeping us informed about moves, illnesses, needs, and etc.  Thank you to everyone who answered my calls to do a quick check-up on someone when there was a concern, or to do something else that was needed.  Thank you for stopping in to check on things at the church just to be sure everything was properly.  Thank you for helping me answer questions that were being asked--I could always find someone who knew what I needed to know!  Thank you, thank you, - it is a joy to witness the camaraderie generated while working for a common purpose.  Last November we were asked to have "Faith in What's Next".  I am so moved by the constancy of this congregation as we moved through this transition time.  Pledges and gifts continued to come in even though our attendance was low.  Our bills continued to be paid.  Our "what's next" is happening and our faith is strong.  Let's continue to link arms and hearts as, together, we begin writing the next chapter in our FCC history book.

With much gratitude,

A Note From Pastor Jeff Collins....

Thank you for graciously allowing my family and me to come and serve the Lord here at First Christian.  It truly has been a blessing.  The support of so many of you through your kind words of encouragement brings me joy.  I would pray that you would extend the same welcome, prayer support, and kindness to Pastor Mike Hannamen as you have to me - and I'm confident your will.  Change is never easy, but I pray that as each of you follow the Savior - the Good Shepherd, you will strive to work in unity alongside your new "under shepherd", Pastor Mike.

This was Paul's prayer for the church in Philippi, and it is my prayer for you: "...that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ - to the glory and praise of God."  Phillipians 1:9-11
